Can you find E-85? Do you use it? Do you know anyone who does?

Is E85 fuel something that will never catch on or is is the hidden gem of the energy saving effort?

As far as I know there is only 1 station in Fl that sells E-85 fuel and No I would not use it.
The Emmissions are high for less Horse Power.

I Have switched to BIO- DIESEL for my vehicles and make it here on my Farm.

e-85 uses too much fosil fuel to produce and gets less gas mileage!!!!!!!!

I know this is an old post, but have to respond. I cannot believe the amount of misinformation fed to the public about E85. Most of it coming from Big Oil.

Ethanol uses FAR LESS fossil fuel to produce than gasoline. It is 105 octane fuel producing MORE power and reduces emissions by about 70%.

Yes, the miles per gallon do decrease. We have had our customers report an average of 10% decrease when using a conversion kit. With the fuel running an average of 25% less than regular gas, many of our customers are saving big $$$ while helping the environment and national economy.

No, the emissions are lower for E85. I drive a 2008 Chrysler Sebring FFV. I love it. My gas mileage is between 22 and 28 mpg depending on AC use. I don't know how much power you would want. My car has all the get up and go it needs for getting me down the interstate every day. I went from spending $400 a month on gas at 20mpg to $180 a month at 22 mpg (June) driving the same 1600 miles I log every month (long commute). In Colorado Springs, we have at least 6 stations with E-85 and two more "up the pass" to Woodland Park. I have no idea how many in Denver. I just searched for facilities near my Dad's house in Brooksville and only found 3 for the whole state. The closest is in Lakeland. The best part about E-85 is that you can run straight gasoline in the engine if you switch over by filling up with gas before the vehicle drops below a half-tank. I plan on driving to my Dad's house this fall and I am mapping out the E-85's on the route. I save more than a dollar per gallon on E-85. I can't say enough good stuff about it. If you really want to know the truth without the political hype about E-85, read about Brazil. They have switched completely to ethanol derived from sugar cane.
